Who we are
Queenslander Built is a personal documentation site about a Coorparoo, Brisbane owner-builder Queenslander raise and build-under, with related Queensland building information. The site is operated by Sky Lavelle from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) apply to the handling of personal information by this site.
What we collect
Information you give us directly:
- Email address, when you subscribe to our newsletter via Beehiiv
- Name, email address and message content, when you submit the contact form
- Email and payment details (handled by Stripe), when you purchase a paid product
- Information you choose to include in newsletter replies or other correspondence
Information collected automatically:
- Standard server log information (IP address, browser, operating system, pages visited, referrer)
- Google Analytics data, if and only if analytics is configured (see Cookies and analytics below)
Third parties we use
These are the third parties that hold or process your data when you use the site:
- Vercel: hosting and content delivery (server logs, IP address)
- Beehiiv: newsletter delivery and email signup (email address, subscription metadata)
- Web3Forms: contact form delivery (form submission contents)
- Stripe: payment processing for paid products (email, payment details, billing information)
- Google Analytics (if enabled): aggregate site analytics (anonymised behavioural data)
We do not sell, rent or share your information with other third parties beyond those listed above.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses very few cookies. The site is mostly static and stores nothing about you in cookies for normal browsing.
If Google Analytics is enabled on the site, it uses cookies to measure aggregate visitor behaviour. These cookies are anonymised and do not personally identify you. You can opt out via Google's analytics opt-out tool or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser.
Some embedded third-party content (e.g. Beehiiv signup forms, Stripe checkout) may set cookies of their own when you interact with them. Those cookies are governed by the third party's privacy policy, not ours.
How we use your information
- To send you newsletter content you have subscribed to
- To respond to messages you send via the contact form
- To process payments and deliver paid products
- To understand aggregate site usage
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
How we store and protect your information
Subscriber email addresses are stored by Beehiiv. Payment information is processed by Stripe and is not stored on this site. Contact form submissions arrive via Web3Forms and are forwarded to the operator's email address; they are not stored on the site itself.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, but no internet system is perfectly secure.
Your rights
You can:
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter
- Request a copy of personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your data, subject to record-keeping obligations for paid customers

Children
This site is not intended for children under 16 and does not knowingly collect information about them.
